Senior jurist, seven others shot dead in Pakistan

Lahore, Jan 12 (UNI) Eight people, including Additional Advocate General of Punjab Chaudhry Arif Bhinder and four police guards, were killed when unknown assailants opened fire on his car here today.

Pakistan's private Geo TV qouted witnesses and police officials as saying that one of the attackers, who were aboard two private cars, was also killed in a shoot out with the police while others fled the scene.

Bhinder was on his way to office along with his brother Kashif Bhinder when unknown assailants intercepted his car at Waris Road and opened fire on him, killing eight people on the spot, including both the brothers, their nephew and four guards.

Seven people, including five police guards who were abroad another vehicle and two passer-bys, sustained injuries in the cross fire.
