Woman raped and murdered

Barasat, Jan 11(UNI) Police today recovered a body of an unidentified women hanging from a river side tree at Palpakuria village under Barasat police station in North 24 Parganas.

Police suspected that the young woman was raped and murdered before hanging her body from the tree.

Police had enqired the local people but they were not able to identify the deceased.

'' They might have brought here from elsewhere,'' police said.

A case had been registered and investigation was on, police said.
