Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors summit to begin tomorrow

Ahmedabad, Jan 11 (UNI) The two-day Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit is all set to begin at the Science City here from tomorrow with session on power being kicked off with the opening remarks of Mr Kirit S Parekh, member, Planning Commission.

Mr Ajay Shankar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power Central government, Mr S Jayaraman, CMD, Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd and Mr Peter Reichmcider, vice president, Energised Services, Quanta Services will take up issues on power sector scenario in India.

The session will be chaired by Gujarat Minister of State for Energy, Petrochemicals, Planning and Finance Saurabhbhai Patel (Dalal).

At the special session on oil&gas, discussions will be held on ''Challenges in Exploration, production and development''. Mr R S Sharma, chairman&MD, ONGC will speak on 'ONGC's activities in Gujarat' after which Mr Steve Lawden, CEO, Suntera, London and Mr Marc den Harting, director, Gas&power Shell India Pvt Ltd will address on ''LPG.'' The subject on ''Regulatory Regime in the context of Gas Grid'' will be touched upon by Mr Arvind Mahajan, executive director, KPMG International, Mumbai. The oil and gas session will conclude with Mr R Ravi Mohan, MD, Crisil, Mumbai's deliberations on Natural Gas Demand Suppy scenario in India and Gujarat in particular.
