Raipur, Jan 11 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Mrs Sushma Swaraj today said political scenario at the Centre and the fate of the United Progressive Alliance government would change after the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

''Either the UPA itself would recommend dissolution of the Lok Sabha or its allies would desert them'', she told reporters here.

Replying to a question, Mrs Swaraj said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was being misused by the ruling party at the centre to settle political scores, completely compromising the autonomy of the investigating agency.

She alleged that while Congress leaders involved in certain cases were being given clean chit, CBI was being misused to register cases against former Defence Minister George Fernandes. The CBI is also conducting an inquiry against Mrs Najma Heptullah in connection with the publication of a photograph of Maulana Azad, she added.

On the other hand, Mrs Swaraj has accused the ruling UPA of misusing the CBI in the wake of the agency's reported move to drop a corruption case against Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi. Similarly, cases against Congress leader Capt Satish Sharma also met the same fate.

Criticising the UPA government for its 'failure' to introduce the women's reservation bill during the last session of Parliament, the former union minister said the government could not even table the draft of the bill. ''There are many contradictions within the UPA and the bill gets stuck at the cabient itself'', she added.

Replying to a question, the senior BJP leader said there was no question of the party giving tickets to those MPs, who were expelled from the membership of parliament following the cash for qurey scandal.
