Two ultras killed in AP encounter

Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 11 (UNI) Two Maoists, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with the police on the border of the reserve forest area near Venkatapuram close to Chhattisgarh today.

The Andhra Pradesh police who shared information with Chhattisgarh counterparts on Naxal movements conducted a surprise raid.

A 30-minute shootout followed, in which the Naxals, whose identities were yet to be established, were killed, police said and added a .303 bore rifle, 0.3 revolver, kitbags and some revolutionary literature were seized from the spot.

The bodies were taken to Venkatapuram for post-mortem. The police sounded an alert in the district following the encounter.
