two arrested with explosives

Shillong, Jan 11 (UNI) Meghalaya police have arrested two persons for possessing explosives from Nongalbibra in the state's East Garo Hills district.

Police today said they have seized 11 gelatine sticks and seven detonators from the persons indentified as Jairam Nazary and Giten Shira yesterday.

Police further said they suspect that the duo was involved in supplying explosives to Asom-based militants.

A case had been registered against them under the explosives Act, and investigation was on, police said UNI
