SP laments targeting of UP Govt over Nithari killings
Bhopal, Jan 11 (UNI) Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh has criticised the targeting of the Uttar Pradesh Government over the issue of Nithari killings for gaining political mileage.
Talking to reporters at the Raja Bhoj airport here last evening, Mr Singh claimed that the Nithari killings accused was mentally deranged and would receive punishment by law for his inhuman act.
Mr Singh had briefly halted here while returning from Asom along with actress-MP Jaya Bachchan.
''The Uttar Pradesh Government has made all-out efforts to provide support to the victims' families. Our feelings are with the family members of the victims,'' he said.
Mr Singh said it was strange that politics was being played over this issue and dismissal of the Uttar Pradesh Government was being demanded, while the Congress was silent over the massacre in Asom.
''As far as the question of the Nithari killings goes, children had gone missing in several states. The matter should not be put under a carpet but related aspects should be taken seriously and concrete steps should be taken in this regard,'' the SP leader said.
