Six drug peddlers arrested, 325 kg hemp seized

Jabalpur, Jan 11 (UNI) Six drug peddlers, including two from Andhra Pradesh, were arrested and 325 kg hemp, worth Rs eight lakh in the international market, was seized from them, police said today.

City Superintendent of Police Satyendra Shukla told UNI here that 250 kg hemp was found when a police team stopped a car at the Nagrath Chowk last night and searched it.

Andhra Pradesh's Karimnagar-residents Sairam alias Sawaria and Tejawat Ravi were arrested.

On the basis of their interrogation, police arrested three brothers -- Sanjay Dubey, Ajay and Mukesh -- besides one Sharad Thakur and seized 125 kg hemp from their house.

A multi-utility vehicle, worth Rs eight lakh, was also seized.

It was being expected that interrogation would reveal information about a big group.
