Serpentine queue for petroleum products due to blockade

Imphal, Jan 11 (UNI) The Manipur government starting issuing petrol and diesel in a few oil depots in the state after closing down all others due to an economic blockade launched by the All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) on two National Highways in Manipur NH 39 and 53.

People started queueing up to get petrol since the wee hours and one had to wait for hours to get it. However, oil was given on a limited scale.

Officials said there was adequate stock of petroleum products in the state but it was to be controlled as truckers were refusing to transport oil during the blockade.
