RLD ministers' resignation 'sham': Katiyar

Varanasi, Jan 11 (UNI) The BJP today termed the resignation of RLD ministers from the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Uttar Pradesh government a 'sham'.

''If the RLD had lost faith in the Mulayam government, why did ministers from its quota hand over resignations to party president Ajit Singh, instead of submitting it with Governor T V Rajeswar,'' BJP national general secretary Vinay Katiyar told newspersons at the Varanasi Airport here today.

The BJP leader further said both Mr Yadav and Ajit Singh were two sides of the same coin.

Mr Katiyar termed the UP government move of convening a special session of the Vidhan Sabha ''unconstitutional.'' Criticising the UP government for failure in preventing serial killings in Nithari, Mr Katiyar demanded that victims' families be provided a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each.
