NLFT rebels shot dead TYF leader

Agartala, Jan 11 (UNI) Banned outfit NLFT-BM cadres have shot dead a Tribal Youth Federation (TYF) leader near Chamanu police station area in Dhalai district, police said today.

According to CPI (M) sources, six armed members of National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT-BM) yesterday entered the Bhagyamanipara in search of one Satimohan Tripura and were told by TYF leader Gopaljoy Tripura that Satimohan was not in the house.

Failing to find Satimohan, the gunmen abducted Gopaljoy and shot him at point blank range last night.

Police said a search operation was on to capture the militants.
