Srinagar, Jan 11 (UNI) After a brief relief, night in Kashmir again became colder with minimum temperature dipping several degrees below normal while the day remained comparatively warm.

The night temperature dipped to minus 5.6 degree, about 3.6 degree below normal.

Parts of the famed Dal Lake were again frozen partially today, attracting a large number of locals and tourists. However, the frozen portion melted again as the day progressed.

Night temperatures will continue to remain cold during the next 48 hours, a weather official told UNI.

The Met department informed there was rain and snow on the hilly areas last evening because of western disturbancs from Pakistan.

He said the disturbances from north Pakistan during the next 72 hours might make things better.

The weatherman said the day remained warm as the maximum temperature was 8.2 degree, about four degree above normal. However, it was 11 degree yesterday.
