Nation pays tributes to Shastri on death anniversary

New Delhi, Jan 11 (UNI) The Nation paid tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 41st death anniversary today.

Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit led a host of dignitaries in paying tributes to Mr Shastri, who had given the famous slogan ''Jai Jawan Jai Kisan'', at Vijay Ghat here this morning.

An all religion prayer meet was also held on the occasion.
