MIDC signs four agreements with IDFC
Mumbai, Jan 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) today signed four agreements with India infrastructure Initiative, which is jointly promoted by Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC) and feedback ventures.
The four public-private participation projects in Maharashtra are - an airport at Sindhudurg, a textile Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Kagal in Kolhapur, a 1,000 MW power SEZ at Bhadrawati in Chandrapur and 250 MW power SEZ at Raigad.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Maharashtra Industries Minister Ashok Chavan by MIDC Chief Executive Officer Rajiv Jalota and Shailesh Pathak, head PPP initiative IDFC.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chavan said these four projects would help Maharashtra to promote industrial growth and employment.
Principle Secretary (Industries) V K Jairath said an investment of 60 billion dollars expected to take place in Mumbai for infrastructure development, while 350 billion dollars expectd to be invested in the country.
Mr Jalota said new airport will bring greater connectivity in Konkan region.
