Medha Patkar files defamation suit

Kolkata, Jan 11 (UNI) A suit challenging the arrest of social activist Medha Patkar and her companion was filed before Calcutta High Court today.

Petitioner Ms Patkar and Sujato Bhadra, member of a rights watch group, also claimed in their petition adequate compensation to the damage caused by the administration by stopping their visit to Singur and arresting them.

The petition is likely to come up for hearing tomorrow.
