Madhya Pradesh for stringent laws to protect cows

Bhopal, Jan 11: The Madhya Pradesh government will amend and make more stringent the existing laws to check cow slaughter and illegal transportation of the animal, sources said.

This was decided at a high-level meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here yesterday.

It was proposed in the meeting that the existing laws will be amended to strengthen the state police to check the unlawful activity.
