Lalu should ask Centre to ensure security of Biharis: Shivanand

Patna, Jan 11: JD(U) leader Shivanand Tiwari today asked Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to urge the Centre to provide compensation to families of people of Bihar killed in the Asom carnage.

Mr Tiwari, who had recently joined the JD(U) after abandoning the RJD, asked Mr Prasad to immediately monitor the security arrangements being made by the Centre for the Biharis residing in Asom.

He said being a prominent member of the Union cabinet, it was Mr Prasad's duty to concentrate on the wellbeing of his own people living outside the state.

He said '' Instead of taking care of the affected Biharis, Mr Prasad was busy in making a temple at his native village.'' Mr Tiwari further alleged that Mr Prasad was just trying to derive political mileage from the incident.
