Jalandhar, Amritsar reel under severe cold
Jalandhar, Jan 11 (UNI) Jalandhar and Amritsar today continued to reel under the prolonged cold spell with the mercury again dipping below the freezing point last night.
While Jalandhar's Adampur airport recorded minimum temperature of minus 1.0 degree Celsius, the mercury touched minus 0.7 degree mark in Amritsar last night, an official spokesman said quoting Air Force Met Centre data.
Other parts of the state, including Ludhiana at 1.6 degrees C and Pathankot at 3.2 degrees were also in the grip of the cold wave which has been sweeping the region for the past several days.
