Intelligence failure led to killing: BJP

Shillong, Jan 11 (UNI) The BJP Meghalaya unit today strongly condemned the ''dastardly'' killing of innocent labourers in Upper Asom by ULFA militants.

Condemning the ULFA's ghastly attacks on Hindi-speaking people, the BJP blamed the gross ''intelligence failure''.

The party criticised the Congress government in Asom for not taking adequate pre-emptive measures in this regard, which led to the killings.

Demanding immediate resignation of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the party said the Asom government had failed to protect the life and property of the innocent people.

The BJP also came down heavily on the UPA Government for its deliberate policy of going soft on terror by abrogating POTA and thereby encouraging anti-national forces having terrorist bases in neighbouring countries.
