Gold recovers, Silver declines
Mumbai, Jan 11 (UNI) A Mixed trend was seen today on the Bombay Bullion Exchange with the white metal easing by Rs 35 per kg and Gold recovering by a modest Rs 25.
Silver fineness opened slightly low at Rs 18,830 on lack of fresh demand. it subsequently improved and closed at Rs 18,900 per kg, with a loss of Rs 35 per kg from yesterday's close.
In London, the white metal was quoted high at 12.37/12.40 per troy ounce against US 12.34/12.37 dollars per troy ounce in New York.
Similarly, standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) opened low at Rs 8,845 and Rs 8,895 per ten gm respectively on poor demand.
The yellow metal closed at Rs 8,880 and Rs 8,930 per ten grams with a gain of Rs 25 each from its previous close.
In London, the yellow metal was high at USD 611/613.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 609/611 per troy ounce in New York on Wednesday.
