Dubai police team inspects seized firearms
Kochi, Jan 11 (UNI) A two-member Dubai police team along with the Customs Officials today inspected the foreign-made firearms confiscated from a furniture consignment from the country at the Cochin Port.
A Customs spokesperson said the team, which arrived here today, examined the firearms as part of the investigation.
Meanwhile, a forensic team from Thiruvananthapuram and a three-member team of Tamil Nadu Intelligence Wing also inspected the seizure.
Without divulging further details, he said the probe was progressing well.
The Customs had recovered 49 air pistols and 37 air guns from the consignment yesterday.
The arms were manufactured by Spanish firm Gamo and US companies Walther and Beretta. The brand new pistols and guns were found in packets.
