Couple,man killed in wall collapse

Kancheepuram, Jan 10: Three people including a couple were killed and one injured when the protective wall of a water canal collapsed.

Police said Bhoopal alias Rajendran (40), his wife Usha (35) and Kannan (70) were engaged in desilting work in the canal when the wall collapsed.

While the couple were killed on the spot, Kannan died at the Kancheepuram Government Hospital.

Fire and Rescue Services Personnel removed the couple's bodies from the spot after clearing the debris.

Sakthivel (35) who sustained injuries was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
