Coffee growers society to directly purchase coffee

Madikeri, Karnataka, Jan 11 (UNI) The Kodagu Coffee Growers Cooperative Society has opened 12 centres in Kodagu district of Karnataka to directly purchase coffee from the growers.

Society President M B Devaiah told a press conference here today that the centres have been opened at 12 centres, including Shanivarasanthe, Sunticoppa, Madikeri, Cherambane, Napoklu, Kakkabe, Kakotuparambu, Virajpet, Ammathi, Ponnampet and Konanakatte.

The Society, with over 6,000 members, proposed to export coffee to Dubai also. The present brand names of Hunsur Deluxe and Hunsur Gold coffee would be shortly changed to Madikeri Garden Coffee, he added.
