CBI seizes assets and cash from GTRE official

Bangalore, Jan 11: The Central Bureau of Investigation has booked a technical officer of the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), a Defence Research and Development Organisation unit, for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

A Grade C Technical officer, K P Mohan Kumar and his wife, Bindu Mohan have been booked under provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act by the Anti Corruption Branch of the Central investigating agency.

According to an official release, Rs 3.4 lakh in cash, fixed deposit certificates to the tune of Rs 45 lakhs and documents pertaining to 17 flats in Bangalore and one house in Kerala owned by the couple were seized in a raid at their house on January 8.

A locker, in the joint names of Mohan Kumar and his wife, in the HDFC Bank Airport Road branch was also unearthed in which 300 gm of gold jewellery was found.

They also had a fleet of Toyota Qualis, Toyota Corolla and a Hyundai Santro car.
