BPCL buys 3.1 mln barrels crude in tender
SINGAPORE, Jan 11: State-run refiner Bharat Petroleum Corp. (BPCL) has bought a hefty 3.1 million barrels of crude in its latest tender for February and March loading, a company source said on Thursday.
BPCL bought 1 million barrels of Yemeni Masila crude for February loading from Chinese trader Sinochem.
It also bought 1 million barrels of Azerbaijan's Azeri Light for March loading, together with 1.1 million barrels of Masila crude from Canadian trader Nexen.
On top of the spot purchases, BPCL concluded a term contract with U.S. independent Occidental to buy 500,000 barrels of Masila crude per month during the second and third quarter of this year, the source added.
