17 Bangladeshis held in Haryana
Chandigarh, Jan 11 (UNI) The Haryana police have arrested 17 Bangladeshi residents who had been residing illegally in Gurgaon district.
A police spokesman today said these people were nabbed on Tuesday under a special drive launched to nab illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
He said after receiving a tip-off that some Bangladeshis were living without passport and valid visa in Mohammadpur village of the district, the police raided the area and found that the accused were living in in the village along with their children.
Those arrested were identified as Harun, Hasan Mohammad, Shahid, Ibrahim, Jojul, Isub, Maryam, Veer, Badal, Munir, Iysha, Akram, Shida, Aligan, Jhudal, Khul and Henna.
During interrogation, they failed to produce their passports and other related documents. These people had violated the provisions of the Foreign Act and had been booked under sections 3 and 14 of the Foreign Act, the spokesman said.
