Vivek Oberoi leaves for Sabarimala pilgrimage

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 10 (UNI) Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi today left here for a pilgrimage to the Sabarimala hill shrine.

This is the eighth year in a row that he is visiting the Lord Ayyappa temple located at the Pathanamthitta district in southern Kerala.

Mr Oberoi offered prayers at the Thycaud Sastha temple here from where he made preparations for the journey as prescribed by tradition.

Assisted by the temple priest, the actor prepared the irumudi,' the sacred bundle in which articles of offerings including a coconut filled with ghee were packed.

Later, he left for Sabarimala in a van.
