VHP programme at Ardh Kumbh: UP to file affidavit

Allahabad, Jan 10 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has been directed by Allahabad High Court to file an affidavit on a PIL seeking directions to the respondents, including the state of UP and others, that they will not organise and hold programmes of VHP.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice A N Ray and Justice Ashok Bhushan passed this order on a PIL filed by Mr Rajeshwar Yadav, an Allahabad-based lawyer.

The state chief standing counsel C B Yadav has been directed to file the affidavit within two weeks.

The petitioner contended the Vishwa Hindu Parishad is organising programme in Ardh Kumbh Mela area at Allahabad, which is sponsored by the state government.

UNI
