Task force to eradicate Kalazar and Malaria in Bihar

Patna, Jan 10 (UNI) Concerned with increase in the number of patients of kalazar and malaria,Bihar government constituted a task force, headed by the former Union Health Minister Dr C P Thakur, for eradication of the disease.

After a high-level meeting held for eradication of kalazar and malaria, Mr Kumar told newspersons here today that the government had fixed a target to eradicate the disease by 2010 and a task force had been constituted under the chairmanship of Dr C P Thakur for the purpose.

He said the government would invite suggestions from the Centre, experts, specialists and experienced non-government organisations to control the spread of these diseases.

He said directions had been issued to provide proper medical care to the patients belonging to the oppressed classes suffering from kalazar and malaria.

The meeting was attended by the state Health Minister Chandra Mohan Rai, Dr C P Thakur, Health Secretary Deepak Kumar and others.
