Silver zooms up by Rs 80
Mumbai, Jan 10 (UNI) Silver zoomed up by Rs 80 per kg on the Bombay Bullion Exchange today even as Gold was down by Rs 10 per ten grams, with the precious metals showing a mixed trend.
Silver fineness opened high at Rs 18,930 per kg on good demand.
Later, it slightly improved and closed at Rs 18,935 per kg, with a gain of Rs 80 per kg from yesterday's close.
In London, the white metal was quoted high at 12.40/12.45 per troy ounce against US 12.37/12.40 dollars per troy ounce in New York.
Similarly, standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) opened high at Rs 8,875 and Rs 8,925 per ten gm respectively on good advice.
The yellow metal slightly declined and closed at Rs 8,855 and Rs 8,905 per ten grams with a loss of Rs 10 each from its previous close.
In London, the yellow metal was high at USD 608/611.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 606/608 per troy ounce in New York on Tuesday.
