Sena legislator arrested

Mumbai, Jan 10 (UNI) Shiv Sena MLC Diwakar Raote was arrested today on charges of blackening the nameplate of Chief Secretary D K Shankaran in Mantralaya.

The incident took place on November 2, 2006 as part of Shiv Sena's demand for all name plates of ministers and bureaucrats in Mantralaya to be written in Marathi instead of English, sources said.

Mr Raote was arrested by the Marine Lines police and later released on bail.
