Sena-BJP fails to reach understanding over seat-sharing
Mumbai, Jan 10 (UNI) The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance today failed to reach an understanding over the seat-sharing for the prestigious 227-member Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections scheduled to be held on February one.
The BJP was offered 72 seats while the Shiv Sena agreed to contest on 155 at a meeting of the alliance held here yesterday.
Shiv sena spokesman Manohar Joshi told UNI that the meeting of the alliance took place at the residence of BJP leader Gopinath Munde yesterday. It was attended by the state BJP president, General secretary Vinod Tawade and Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray.
He admitted that some minor problem had cropped up over the seat sharing, but added that the alliance would be able to sort it out soon.
