Scribes held for misbehaving with police officer

Chennai, Jan 10 (UNI) Police arrested a Tamil weekly journalist and are on the search of its editor, who allegedly misbehaved with a police official inside the City Police Commissioner's office here yesterday.

Police said 'Crime News' journalist Balaji and its Editor Maheswaran, who quarrelled with Sub-Inspector Shanmugam of the Egmore police station allegedly abused and manhandled him.

Hearing the commotion, other policemen arrived there and arrested Balaji. However, Maheswaran managed to flee.

Balaji was later remanded to judicial custody.

A search was on to nab Maheswaran, who is absconding, police said.
