Chennai, Jan 10 (UNI) The General Council of the Marumlarchi DMK, which met here under the leadership of Party general Secretary Vaiko, today removed former party Presidium Chairman L Ganesan (MP) and Deputy General Secretary Gingee Ramachandran (MP) from their posts for indulging in anti-party activities.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the meeting. The resolution also said the activities of Mr Ganesan and Mr Ramachandran also amounted to conspiracy and joining those who wanted to destroy the party.
Mr Vaiko removed the two from their party posts in his capacity as General Secretary.
The removal of Mr Ganesan and Mr Ramachdnran came in the wake of criticism by the former lieutenants of Mr Vaiko for forging an alliance with the AIADMK.
The two had also convened a rebel General Council meeting and removed Mr Vaiko as the General Secretary at Salem on December 29.
