Red alert sounded at airport

Chennai, Jan 10 (UNI) Red alert was sounded at the domestic airport here today following an anonymous phone call received at the Indian Airlines call centre in New Delhi warning that a Chennai-Hyderabad flight would be hijacked.

Official sources said the caller informed that a group of naxalites would leave for Hyderabad from Chennai by flight and they would hijack the aircraft.

Meanwhile, the security officers in Delhi found that the call was made from Hyderabad and sounded the red alert to the Chennai airport.

Sources said all the Hyderabad pasengers were being monitored closely and luggages screened twice.

Close vigil was being kept on the persons visiting the airport to see off passengers.
