Qaeda suspect thought killed in Somalia-US official
WASHINGTON, Jan 9 (Reuters) US intelligence believes a Sunday air strike in Somalia killed one of three al Qaeda members suspected in the 1998 bombing of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, an official said today.
The intelligence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was not clear which al Qaeda member died in the strike, which he described as a targeted operation against the militant network's leadership.
''We don't know which one is the one at the moment,'' the official said. ''I don't think we got all three. Of the senior guys, people are looking at one.'' REUTERS BDP BST2337
