One killed in mishap

Puducherry, Jan 10 (UNI) One person was killed and seven injured in a road accident near Villianur here today.

According to police, Ezhumalai of Thirukovilur was walking on the Villippuram-Puducherry Road.

The mishap occurred when he attempted to move to the side on seeing a vehicle coming towards him.However, a lorry coming from behind hit him killing him on the spot.

In the melee, six loaders in the lorry jumped from the vehicle and injured themselves. The lorry then hit a cyclist injuring him before coming to a halt.
