NIIT Tech, Germany DB Systems in services deal

New Delhi, Jan 10: NIIT Technologies today said its German subsidiary NIIT Technologies AG has closed a three-year offshore partnership agreement with full-service information technology provider DB Systems GmbH, for flexible provisioning of IT specialists.

The company will take over the function of 'extended workbench' for DB Systems and provide internationally certified IT specialists and developers as and when needed.

With this project, NIIT Technologies AG will provide offshore services to the German market and expects to position itself as a capable offshoring partner for the development of cost optimising IT solutions.

''The cooperation with DB Systems underscores NIIT Technologies AG's claim of being a strategic partner for the flexible development and production of applications, in line with market demands,'' NIIT Technologies AG Executive Director Rolf Stephan said.

The cooperation with NIIT Technologies AG provides DB Systems access to personnel, while minimising the associated risks and costs and supports the goals set within a growth and diversification-based strategy, said Mr Robert Simmeth, Chairman of the Management Board at DB Systems.

''The engagement with NIIT Technologies, which is initially planned for three years, will not lead to a reduction in the number of jobs at DB Systems. We have even been taking on new staff for software engineering selected segments,'' Mr Simmeth added.
