NHRC asks for report from Raj Govt on Bharatpur kidnapping

New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) Taking suo motu cognizance of a newspaper report that said dacoits kidnapped five people, including a woman, from Rajasthan's Bharatpur District and paraded them half naked, NHRC has sought a factual report within four weeks from the state government on the incident.

The Commission directed the Director General of Police to submit the report.

Expressing concern over the incident, NHRC said it is a serious issue of violation of human rights of the citizens.

According to the December 27 report, seven dacoits kidnapped 5 members of the Banjara Community from Nangala village and paraded them half naked.

However, three people eacaped and reported the incident to police.

The report said two hostages have not been released so far and the police is investigation the matter.
