''After the Nithari case, all states, where such cases occured, should order a CBI probe into the serial killings like done by UP.

The Centre should reach a collective decision to deal with criminal cases related to children'', he said.

As many as 45,000 children had gone missing in the country during the last few years, Mr Yadav said urging the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre to take the initaitive in this regard.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Yadav said the recent case of seriel killings in Punjab, which is being linked with a Congress leader, should also be probed by the CBI.

Questioning the opposition and the media of making hue and cry over the Nithari case, he said it was UP Police which unearthered the case and now several such cases were being discovered in other parts of the country.

Defending his government's action on the culprits of the Nithari case, he said '' We wanted the case to be worked out within three week but after the attack by opposition against the government, we were forced to go for the CBI probe.'' Hiting that the accused in the Nithari case had close link with the son-in-law of a senior Congress leader, the CM appreciated the role of the UP police in the case.
