M'shita to invest $ 2.4 bln on display plant-source

TOKYO, Jan 10 (Reuters) Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. will spend about 280 billion yen to build a new plasma display factory in western Japan, a source close to the matter said today.

Matsushita, the world's largest maker of plasma display televisions, will begin construction of the factory this year, and the plant is expected to have an annual output capacity of around 10 million units, the source said.
