Mixed trend witnessed in Metals

Mumbai, Jan 10 (UNI) Mixed trend was seen in metals due to moderate demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous category, copper heavy, copper utencils and Brass utencils hiked by Rs 100, Rs 500 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively on good demand.

In the non-ferrous segment, copper wire bars and Aluminium Ingots went up by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply while Zinc slab and Lead Ingot slashed by Rs 500 and Rs 50 per quintal respectively.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode slid by Rs 10 and Rs 20 per kg on poor demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 29,900, copper utensils - Rs 28,500, brass utensils - Rs 22,300, brass cuttings - Rs 24,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 33,500, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, zinc slab - Rs 21,000, lead ingots - Rs 7,150 tin slab - Rs 590 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,670 (per kg).
