Master Plan 2021 before January 31: Jaipal Reddy

New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) Union Minister for Urban Development Jaipal Reddy today said the 2021 Master Plan for Delhi would be notified before January 31.

He told this to mediapersons here after a meeting of the senior party leaders from Delhi, convened by the All India Congress Committee General secretary and party incharge for Delhi Ashok Gehlot to discuss various issues pertaining to the state, including the forthcoming MCD polls and the 2021 Master Plan.

Mr Reddy said the suggestions given by members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly during the two-day session, which concluded on Monday, would be given a serious consideration while preparing the MPD 2021.

''The suggestions given by members of the Delhi Legislative have not yet arrived in the Ministry. However, attempts will be made to incorporate as many suggestions from Delhi MLAs as possible. Further, the proposals of the 2021 Master Plan would also be discussed among the Delhi MPs,''Mr Reddy said.

Mr Gehlot said the suggestions put forth on the MPD 2021 by the Delhi MLAs, including the regularisation of the unauthorised colonies in Delhi as it is, exempting schools as well as pre-1962 colonies like Sadar Bazar from the sealing action were discussed at the meeting.

He said following request from Delhi MPs for discussion on the Master Plan, their opinion would also be obtained.

Talking to reporters, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said the suggestions given by members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly on the Master Plan had been submitted to the Urban Development Ministry.

''We have done our job. Now, it is now upto the Delhi Development Authority and the Urban Development Ministry whose suggestions are to be incorporated in the MPD 2021,''Ms Dikshit said.

While assuring consideration of all suggestion, Mr Reddy, however, asserted that areas like Sainik Farms, Mahindroo Enclave and Anantram Dairy would not be considered under the unauthorised colonies in the MPD 2021.
