Lashker militant killed, huge cache of arms recovered in J

Srinagar, Jan 10 (UNI) Security forces killed a militant of the Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said today.

He said security forces gunned down an LeT militant immediately after he hurled a hand grenade towards a search party at Gagra, in Gool last night. One pistol, three magazines, 20 rounds of ammunition and one wireless set were recovered from the slain militant identified as Abdul Gani.

Security forces busted a hideout at Laloor in Doda district and recovered two Ak magazines, 32 rounds of ammunition, three detonators and one wireless set.

Another hideout was busted at Kokernag and a huge cache of arms and ammunition including six magazines, one RPG launcher, one UBGL and more than 500 rounds of ammunition were recovered.

However, no one was arrested.
