New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's speech at the January 12-13 Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors's Summit at Ahmedabad will simultaneously be heard in Chinese and Japanese languages as well with the help of a cordless device.

Investors, industrialists and dignitaries arriving from China and Japan for the inaugural session of the third edition of the Summit will be able to listen to the speech in Gujarati, in their mother tongue.

''This is happening for the first time in India that a speech is at once translated in three languages with the help of cordless device, based on Vi-Fi or infrared system,'' a Gujarat government official said here today.

The state government is organising the two-day event at Science City.

''The dignitaries coming to Gujarat from the countries like Japan, China and Singapore sometimes face difficulties to understand English language. In view of their predicament, the state government has made available the help of interpreters during the inaugural function of the Summit,'' he said.

They will be able to listen to the speeches made in Gujarati, Hindi or English, simultaneously in Chinese, Japanese, English or Hindi languages.

A sound-proof cabin is being erected near the dais of the Chief Minister. The interpreters will translate the speeches in Chinese, Japanese, English and Hindi languages at once and disseminate it through the language distribution system.

At present, only the Parliament House has the facility of the simultaneous translation of a speech, but is restricted to translation in only one language and that too with the device connected with wire.

But at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit, the listeners can themselves change the switch and listen to the speech in one of the three languages.

Noted linguist Hiralkumar Yagnik has been entrusted with the responsibility of this arangement. Dr Yagnik holds Ph.D in linguistics and can write and talk in 15 languages.

Mr Yagnik said permanent arrangement of interpreters would be made at the site of the summit so that the investors, industrialists or dignitaries arriving in Gujarat from different countries do not face any language problem.
