Labourer dies in quarry mishap, 3 policemen among 8 wounded

Srinagar, Jan 10 (UNI) A labourer was killed and two others wounded in a stone quarry mishap while six people, including 3 policemen, were injured in different road accidents across Kashmir today.

Police said three labourers working in a stone quarry at Ajas Bandipora in Baramulla district came under a huge boulder and were critically wounded.

They were rushed to the Sub-District Hospital at Bandipora, where one of them, Fayaz Ahmad Tantray, succumbed to injuries.

The two other wounded were referred to the Bones and Joints Hospital here for treatment.

Police said a Scorpio, carrying police personnel, collided with a TATA-608 near Shadipora in Ganderbal area. Three police personnel and as many civilians were wounded in the accident.
