Gujarat Cabinet nod for setting up petroleum varsity

Gandhinagar, Jan 10 (UNI) Gujarat Government today announced its decision to set up 'Petroleum University' here as a step towards making the State a global player in petro-energy sector at international level.

The decision to set up 'Petroleum University' in Gandhinagar was taken by the Cabinet during its weekly meeting held under the chairmanship of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here.

Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabh Patel and Gujarat Urban Development Minister I K Jadeja in a joint statement said, the state government had decided to set up state-of-art world class Petroleum University here to avail of skilled and trained human resources to meet the petroleum, gas and energy needs of Gujarat and the nation.

They said, a draft bill for setting up the Petroleum University in the state would be brought in for discussion in the forthcoming Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly.
