Ghost troubles schoolgirls
Mandla, MP, Jan 10 (UNI) Seven girls of a secondary school in this tribal-dominated district's Bichhia block are complaining of being troubled by a ghost, but the medical officer who examined them says it is only a psychological problem.
The girls, studying in the seventh and eighth standard allege that a ghost has been troubling them for the past three days.
On reaching the Harrabhaat school, they feel dizzy and begin swaying. Their behaviour has disturbed other students, teachers and parents. A medical team from the district headquarters is providing treatment.
Palak Shikshak Sangh Member Phool Singh and an affected girl's mother Chhoti Bai said the girls left home daily in a healthy condition.
"A few of them are suffering from malaria. The others have some psychological problem,'' said Block Medical Officer Suresh Jharia.
Such an incident had occurred at least once earlier in this district and the administration is considering a strategy for combating such superstitions.
