Four women coolies killed in train accident
Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 10 (UNI) Four women coolies were killed on the spot when the Visakhapatnam-bound Tirumala express hit them behind while they were crossing a bridge today at Gollaprolu in East Godavari district.
Police said the incidnt occurred, while the women were crossing the SC Peta bridge. The impact of the death was so much that the bodies were dragged upto 100 rpt 100 meters distance. The train was held up for nearly two hours.
The deceased were identified as G Nagamma (40) Eddu Satyavathi (25) Bandi Simhacalam(50) and Eddu Durga (12).
A case has been registered and an investigation was underway, police added.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old K Prasad at Tuni platform commited suicide by jumping before the train. The deceased, who was working as a lorry cleaner, took the extreme step, as he was suffering from financial problem.
