Extra care taken for PSLV-C7: Koshy

Sriharikota, Jan 10 (UNI) In view of the GSLV-FO2 failure last year, extra care was taken for the launch of PSLV-C7, Vehicle Director of the PSLV mission George Koshy said here today.

''We started PSLV-C7 mission much before the failure of GSLV-FO2 last year and extra care was taken to re-examine all the system and subsystems,'' he noted.

Mr Koshy also said that his team carried out quality assessement test to identify any possible defect, and replacements were made when it was required.

''It was a very wonderful experience'' he said, laiding entire ISRO team, which had not bed extremely hard to make it a grand success, he added.

The ISRO team had worked for extended hours and each and everyone had put in their extra efforts to make it 'one hundred per cent' success, he said.

Mr Koshy also attributed the success of today's PSLV mission and the dedicated effort of the ISRO scientists, who left their homes and continuously stayed here for making it a success.

''The flight sequence was exactly on dot,'' he said.

''For the first time, a video imaging system was placed onboard the launch vehicle to see the separation of satellite from the PSLV, he said, adding the images captured in the video imaging system will be sent by today noon to the ground stations by the satellite.
